| The "Artificial reefs" and "Repopulating" issues have been tackled by the Ifremer for a number of years without reaching a clear cut point of view, mainly for lack of socio-economic elements necessary to a rigorous analysis of these devices and practices. During a mission in Japan in January 2006, some Japanese experts, have presented to the head of the Ifremer a few examples of realisations related to these fields and conducted in their country. The head of the Ifremer realised the scope of such devices in Japan and expressed the wish to see an in-depth study carried out over there. | This report includes a qualitative and descriptive approach of the oyster and mussel industries in the European Community. This report compares the structure of production, the marketsn the professional organisation, competition for the resource, legislation and support systemat the community levell. Technical and statistical datas are summarized to représent the structure of the industry, the trade flows and the main evolutions of the two industries in the EC. | The study undertaken during the 1994-1998 planning contract on the Breton fishing fleet made it possible to underscore the size of the economic activity in regional territorial waters: More than 85% of the ships work there. This space, which is a matter of national sovereignty, is mainly managed at the regional level. To clarify the paths that may need to be taken, it seemed opportune to us to identify spatially the coastal fisheries, as well as the main current problems of planning. The fishing zones were mapped. | La spécificité du mode d'alimentation des coquillages fouisseurs présentera toujours un facteur de risques important pour leur qualité bactériologique car ils filtrent les particules présentes sur le sédiment superficiel fortement contaminé. Sur le Bassin d'Arcachon, 300 tonnes de coques et 120 tonnes de palourdes sont pêchées au banc d'Arguin et sur les vasières internes du nord-est de la baie. Leur taux de contamination varie de façon importante selon les sites et les périodes de l'année. Si le secteur central du bassin (île aux oiseaux) semble indemne de pollution, la majorité des zones de pêche peut être ponctuellement contaminée.
